Hello everybody. :)

I have always chosen the path less traveled in many ways, and recently I have discovered (in part) why that is.

I am a stay-at-home mommy to 3 wonderful babies, and have a wonderful, NT husband.

I am glad to find a place like this. It is refreshing.

PeaceMaker

BTW, I am curious, how many of you guys find yourself taking veiws on issues that are different than most others?

first off, welcome. next, i find myself to have many different views from others. iam known to be quite stubborn with what i believe but enjoy being different. I believe that I have different views from others because I want to. Iam always trying to find my own original view towards many things.

My views on life in general seem to be quite unusual.

I've always found most of my views wildly at odds with most of the rest of the lemming like denizens of society, yes...... Oh, and welcome aboard and all that :)

Given people's responses to my question ("how many of you guys find yourself taking veiws on issues that are different than most others?")
another question, and this time a question that perhaps we cannot answer, is raised:

Since so many of us are taking unpopular veiws if they seem to be logical, do we tend to take the same unusual veiw of things as each other, (given the proper information) or do we all just differ from one another on various issues as much as we differ from NTs?

Logical, intelligent people were as likely to vote for Bush as they were for Kerry...

Intelligent people (like Aspergs) are as likely to be socialists as they are libertarians...

It's like Ludwig Wittgenstein said... "Ethics are transcendental"... you can't determine ethics with logic...

Peace maker (and others)...

Hi...

I don't see eye to eye with many people - no. I wonder if I'm more likely to see eye to eye with Aspies. I agree that we're more likely to be extreme in our views, though, and probably we'll have thoughtful, intelligent reasons for believing as we do.

Peace - you and I have a world in common. Housewives, with many kids, NT husbands, etc. Besides, I'm a Quaker-type. So a shout-out to all the other Aspie, housewife with lots of kids, pacifists out there!!

I'm a liberal nut... A socialist for sure (Green Partier).

Welcome to Wrong Planet, Peace Maker.

I'm a pacifist as well. I've read that I'm the Bridge Between Two Cultures, and I've spent years trying to figure out what the two Cultures are. The sign told me that I'm both a Mod and a Hippie. Peace-out, baby, yeah!

Ah.. a kindred spirit for sure..

Um, we will just have to talk religion somewhere. LOL Sounds like it could be fun.

BTW, I am really glad to see I am not alone. Thanks for replying!! :D

Well, wow. I might be green if it weren't for the wonderful libertarian party. I think what they have to offer is better, personally. Libertarianism is more self-governed which fits my follower-of-the-Way world veiw. Anyway, it is really cool to meet you here. I look forward to talking more with you!

A modernist. A (predominantly) youth sub-culture that evolved in the 1960's as a result of young people having more disposable income (work, particularly for the working classes was plentiful in the early '60's), a backlash against "rockers" with their long, greasy hair, loud "old-fashioned" taste in music, and a desire to move away from the scrimping, saving, "make do and mend" attitiude of their parents' generation.

Mods classically rode scooters (Vespas or Lambrettas preferably) that were highly customised to individual style, wore sharp, tailored suits that were often paid for week by week, listened to bands such as The Who, The Small Faces, some reggae and ska. They were also known for their pill-popping and fights agains rockers.

The film Quadrophenia (made in the 1970's) is a very good representation of the Mod sub-culture. (Also pretty good for a general feel of 1960's Britain. And my mum was nearly in it, (as a rocker because she rode a classic British bike), but her work wouldn't let her take the day off!
