Hello. My name is Mariana, I'm 17 years old and I'm from Portugal. I only registered now but I've been reading these boards for some time, and now I gathered the courage to participate.
I don't know if I have AS, but I can identify with most of it. I rememeber feeling weird and different since I was a child. I have never seen a psychiatrist or a psychologist, even though the doctor sent me to one when I was younger...I refused to go and stayed home having tantrums instead. Today I know there's something going on with me. I've been feeling miserable and hopeless and I've been making people who care for me want to go away. I would like to talk with someone and have an explanation for my behaviours, but if I told this to my parents they would say that I am just a difficult person, and there's no other explanation for that...
I am happy that this place here exists and that I can have contact with people with similar problems.
Forgive me for some possible mistakes, but English is not my main language.

Bem vinda! (Well, I'm actually going to speak in English, just to keep going with the mainstream language)

I'm kind off in the same situation as yourself. Portuguese, almost doing 19 years and still not diagnosed with AS or any disorder. Unlike you I've been to a psychologist, two actually, but I just gave up after a few tries because I wasn't really making any profress because I couldn't communicate with them (hard to explain). The only thing I got was "Anxiety issues" from a Rorschach test (you know, those "tell me what you see in the ink" tests).

I identify myself with AS since I first really heard of it (probably about 4 years ago), but recently been "awaken" to it again because of some comentaries a person that actually deals with some aspies told me I had the traits. (And I really do...)

Well, this was my first post here too. Anyway, if you do want to talk, send me a message. I'm all ears. E podemos até falar em português que é mais fácil :lol: .
