Hey everybody, I'm new to the forum and to knowing about my diagnosis of AS. I discovered my diagnosis about two years ago even though I was diagnosed in 2003. My doctors never bothered to tell me (or just assumed I knew) and my mom didn't want me or anyone else in the family to find out because she was worried it would upset me. She had a point because it did at first.
I'm 24 now and graduated from college just over a year ago. I didn't get any sort of disability services because I wasn't aware of my AS for most of my time in school so it makes me wonder if I could have learned more about the "real world" and have gotten a better job. Oh well, I don't think I have too much to complain about.
I guess that's it for now. I look forward to an awesome Wrong Planet experience!
BTW, I'm really glad there's an LGBT forum section.
