Hi!

I am new here. I got diagnosed with Asperges syndrome just a few months ago. I am 31 years old. I hope this place can help me. I just want to talk to someone who thinks like me. I often feel confused and lonely.

Welcome! Amongst the enormous membership here, there will surely be those who think like you. Post some thoughts and the replies will help to find who thinks like you - and also who doesn't!

Thanks for the welcome :)

My english is not great but i hope you can understand me anyway.
i reed a lot of the discousions in here and it was so nice to realise that im not so speciel at all. A lot of people out there have the same problems I have. But it also made me cry a little. I think it finaly hit me that the psykiatrist was not lying when he said that asperges can not be cured.

Sorry if its late but welcome, i personally have found a lot of support here and places where you can vent and talk, i hope its the same for you :) But i think everyone is unique, so don't feel bad for being special, since everyone is if you ask me :D Sorry that's my flawed logic! And no sorry ASD or Aspergers or anything related can't be cured :x But may i ask how life has been for you before you got diagnosed? Because for me a lot of puzzle pieces came together, how was it for you?

I dont get so angry and frustrated with myself now that I have realised that I have asperger. I suffer from panic attacks and for about one and a half year ago it got so bad i had to stop working. Thats when i got some thearapy and some anxiety diagnoses. After a year they said "Oh. you have aspergers?! then we cant help you.." they made me take a kognitiv test that took 3 ours and i am now waiting for the results.

I miss working ( I was a care worker for 5 years) but I sertanly dont miss the constant stress an panic attacks. I would love to go back to schoul and become a diatist. ( not sure if that is the right word..but it means that i would like to become an expert in food and health)

I feel angry that I did not know about this asperger a long time ago. it would defenetly have been much easier. I spent most of my childhoud and teen years feeling like an alien and being so lonely and scared.

But I am grateful that I know now. I realised that I have to start taking better care of myself and accepting that i have some problems and limatations. Lukely i have a wonderfull housband and a son. That it was keeps me going.
