Hi, guys.
I'm just doing the introduction thing, but I never really know what to say. My name is Will. I'm 27, on the cusp of turning 28. I currently help manage a friend's tattoo shop in a rural area, but I'm returning to school next year to study 'Sonic Arts' (Audio Engineering) in New York City. (It's kind of a big leap...) I'm a huge music buff, I like to write, collect antiques, play video games, and generally I'm a big geek who read too many comic books as a kid.
After being misdiagnosed for a long time, I was declared Asperger's/HFA this past year. (I'm still fuzzy on the difference, but from what I've put together, so is everybody else.) Knowing brings some comfort, but the challenges are still routine and sometimes much more than I can shoulder alone. Friends and family try their best to understand, but it's often like we're speaking in different languages entirely or just pantomiming at each other in the dark. I'm sure that the rest of you can relate or else we wouldn't be here, right?
Anyway, it's nice to be here and I hope to get along well with everybody. Thanks!
- Will
