I am 44 years old (that is seriously so hard to believe), and I have an appointment to see a psychiatrist who specializes in autism to be evaluated for Asperger's syndrome. The first appointment is a one hour initial screening/visit followed by two 2 hour testing sessions, my question is how prepared should I be for the first appointment, should I bring any of the online tests I have taken or how do I tell my doctor why I think that I have Asperger's?

Let your doc take the lead.
Preparing yourself for the why do you think you have AS question is a good idea though.
Just be truthful, you discovered this disorder and the symptoms associated with it and you think that you display enough of the
characteristics of AS to warrant being screened for it.
Be ready to likely have to give examples of what you consider to be your AS like characteristics.

Also be open to it being something else. That's what the test is for after all.

Also you can bring your online tests with you buy don't be surprised if he is not interested.
He will likely only trust his own testing method.

52 yr old here in precisly the same position, I get tested on the 14th.

I thought i'd note down just a couple of things I have in common with AS to take to my test, up to six pages so far

Certainly an eye opener eh?

I know right, I felt like I was on the wrong planet.

I always thought I was a robot under my skin as a small kid, I considered the idea I'd been left by aliens but that was just silly. Pfft
I remember asking trick questions of my Mum trying to find where I came from, thought Id be able to trip her up.

What a miserable *%@#ing thing this is.

I remember doing a paper mache art project in the special ed class I was put in in middle school because they didn't know what else to do with me, I did an alien head lol
