Hi,
My seven year old son was recently diagnosed with atypical high-functioning autism (atypical because he scored low for sterotypical behaviour, and autism rather than Asperger's because there was some delay with his speech development). In view of this, and learning more and more about the subject, I have been coming to the conclusion that I have Asperger's syndrome myself. It seems to explain so much about my life, past and present. I was wondering, though, how I would go about getting a formal diagnosis and also what would be the pros and cons of getting a diagnosis for myself. I am 47 years old.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,
Paul
