Hello.. I'm Emma, 19 years old. I was diagnosed with Asperger's (I can't spell) when I was around 6 and I actually hate having it. It affects me in small and big ways but no one notices it.. They just think I'm basically stupid :(

I'm looking to make some new friends anyway? So please talk to me if you want :)

Hello Emma and welcome to the forum.

I never knew about Aspergers growing up but I also had a very very difficult time with what I now understand was AS. I think a lot of us have had very difficult childhoods because of it.

Anyway, we don't think you're stupid - we have had to put up with ignorance like that too so we know the drill.

:)

Si

Hi Emma,
You should find many your age here as it is a large group, and I think you'll find most share many of the same problems adapting to a NT (neuro-typical) world. One thing I hope... well no make that two things I hope you realize is:

1. Bad spelling has absolutely no bearing on intelligence. I am a horrendous speller, and to be honest I sometimes enjoy it.

2. We all have that mismatch with the rest of society that can get us labeled as 'dum'. But we are anything but dum & your not either.

Hello everyone! Thanks for all commenting on my discussion thing..
I don't fully know what Asperger's is but I'm sure I will find out eventually :)
Spelling has never been my strong point but I am sure there are many others out there with that issue..
Anyway thanks to you all :)
