Hello. I'm Brian Finally someone else on here from New England. I'm new too and i've been looking for people in New England. I just found out I have AS as well. Still doing the same thing you are. Just trying to learn more about it. Just by realizing it though it's already helped me take a huge step in the right direction. Hope you like it here. Send me a message sometime if you want to talk some more.
hi brian! I am originally from hawaii, but this year I have moved out on my own and been shuffled around the country quite a bit (pennsylvania, new mexico, now massachusetts). this is the longest I have stayed in one place since I left my parents and I have only been here since june! I know what you mean about just knowing you have AS helping. I suspected for years that I had it but it was always brushed off as something that I would "grow out of". it wasn't taken seriously until I started seeing a psychiatrist for other reasons (depression, anxiety, possible bipolar) that I was diagnosed. I talked to a couple of my old teachers recently and they said that they had always suspected I had AS but had never said anything for whatever reason... I wish they had because then I would have started getting help for it in middle school and growing up wouldn't have been as difficult! but things are how they are and now that I am diagnosed I feel more comfortable talking about it and can finally get help learning how to function.
