Hello to everyone one this site!
I have found you through the wonder that is wikipedia. I am a neurotypical (I think) parent of a 7 year old boy that we (me and his mum) have been trying to limp our way through the healthsystem for a few years to get a formal diagnosis for him. He has displayed traits of ocd since he was 2 which over the years have developed into tourettes like tics and behaviors. Socially he is a textbook aspie (if indeed there was such a thing). I've been reading a book called "a drug free approach to asperger syndrome and autism" and the whole section about asperger might as well of been written about him!
I assume there are millions of parents out there who like us, know we're not alone, yet can't help but feel were doing this ourselves and nobody in the medical community is really interested.
Anyway, I'm glad to be here and I'd like to think that as my boy gets older, this site can help us to guide him and even be a source for him to socialise with like minded people.
