hi all-
i am a mom of a 10 year old girl who has asperger's. i have worked in the field of autism my entire life so i knew what avenues to go through and what to expect, etc etc, but it is always different when it is your own child. recently she has been having increasing difficulties with social understanding, idioms, and all the other "typical" social undertandings that our kids face. i am very lucky that she is comfortable enough to talk to me about what happens at school, (i get a play by play of school!) and she will ask me what certain things mean and so forth. i am fortunate enough to know how to help her understand what happened and possibly why. i would enjoy to hear from other parents who have girls with asperger's and share experiences. thanks april

Welcome to WP!! !

Even though I'm not parent, I'm glad to here that you are very supportive of your daughter. My mom is very supportive and I talk to her a lot about school and social things that happen. I don't think I would have made it this far if I didn't have her support. So, it is nice heard of another supportive parent. I hope you find what you are looking for here.
