I'm new here. Hello! I'm a self diagnosed aspie (I can't be one hundred percent sure, I suppose, without a diagnosis) and I just learned that small talk existed last week. That lovely realization set me on the hunt to figure out how a girl of eighteen could make it through life without noticing that small talk wasn't boring conversation but an actual social activity. After a bit of research, I concluded that I probably have Asperger's (that would explain pretty much everything in my entire life). When I brought it up to my mother, she told me that she had always thought me to be on the Autism Spectrum but since I seemed to be surviving, had never mentioned it before.
I'm here to learn some strategies on social situations and interact with people who have had similar experiences to mine.
About me personally... I love reading and can learn anything that I set my mind to really quickly. I plan on studying History at uni with the eventual intent to become a librarian. Annddd that's about it because I'm really bad at talking about myself.
Basically, it's nice to meet you all and I'm glad to be here.
