Hi. I finally got my diagnoses today! It's a relief to know that my quirks now have a name even though I'm 28. Now I can hopefully attend college and succeed as I'll have accommodations for both Asperger's and dyscalculia. I might change my mind, as I do that often, but I'm sort of considering physics despite my learning disorder.... Most of my other interests are in the arts, and I can't risk a degree in a field that I may not get a job in. :( I have no idea what else I should say here.

Awesome! Great to hear you're able to put a name to your quirks :D I hope you succeed in college and the accommodations afforded by the diagnosis are very helpful. I understand with the artistic interests that are great but may never lead to any monetary comfort later in life...almost went for an art degree myself, phew. Physics are fantastic, genuinely one of my favorite subjects despite math being my weakest link as well.

Welcome to WP

I have AS and dyscalculia and a degree in Biology and a minor in Geography (it was not easy!). Dyscalculia manifests very different in different people. I would never be able to make a degree in physics.

Consider your weaknesses in your dyscalculia and then consider what is nessessary to get a degree in physics. Look at the curriculum and have a look in the books, is it something you will be able to do?

Thanks for the encouragement and the questions. Currently I am studying math through Kahn academy and other sources, and reading physics books, trying to see if it will be at all possible. Any other suggestions would be welcomed!
