Hi. I'm Chase. I'm a girl, I'm 23 years old and I live in the south of England. I was diagnosed with Asperger's in July. I was really happy to have an explanation after struggling for so long, but now am feeling a bit lost because there's not much provision for help. I'm very high functioning, and was told my language was good for an Aspie, but I don't know many other Aspies and am not sure how to gain access to help. But yeah, trying to meet new people and stuff, so hi.

Hi! I just got diagnosed too. It's odd that they said your language was very good (for an Aspie)... the woman that tested me didn't remark on that although I have a very large vocabulary and "amazing reading comprehension".

Out of curiosity, are you bad at math? I've noticed that quite a few fellow aspie's on this site that are good with language also have dyscaculia.

Thanks guys :)

Telephonoscope - I'm not noticeably bad at math. I always preferred English Language (not Lit, cos I mostly hate reading) but I found English easier to make it up instead of actually doing work. But I got top grade in my exams at school. Didn't take it onto college (And actually wasn't at school the week they did graphs, so no idea how to do those).
I think the comment about my language had nothing to do with my vocab - it was because my mimicking is incredible, so I can make myself look and sound completely normal, I'm just not good at telling you what I meant hehe.

Our Aspie kin is super sharp at Math and off the charts on reading comprehension. He was reading on a 12th grade high school level by 4th grade or so. Handwriting skills non-existent. Sure there is some variances. He knew all his old DOS computer commands by age two. Always thought that was amazing. Some of those are highly complicated not that many have need to work from DOS these days.
