Do you remember "Welcome Back, Kotter," and Horsjakc's strange laugh - "heh, heh, heh." Well, mine wasn't that bad when young - it wasn't high pitched at allbut it was like a continuous Haaaaaa." Picture Elmer Fudd's "hahahahaha" sped up and I guess that's the closest you could come up with.

I just wondered, becasue, as I've said in other posts, I can sense the basic emotions in others usually. I empathize with others if they're hurt or happy or whatever. But, I sometimes will overdramatize in my hed what someone's feeling at times - thinking a little anger/sadness/whatever is a lot, if I'm not monitoring myself at times. I guess you can say on one level I can sense emotions, but on another I can't b/c the level indicator isn't always there as much as in NT'ers.

But, when it came to humor, I had to work when younger to develop a laugh that is more "normal," becasue I suppose there was something in me that just didn't record how to do that.

I have done it, BTW - only now I will not only laugh normally, but very hard. Sometimes, I'll fall off of a chair laughing if something's really funny, just like I sometimes "overdramatize" other emotions, thinking someone who's just a little put off at something is really angry, etc.. A good example is when I was with a friend, and we were talking about tickling yourself, and I was laughing b/c he was claiming he could (he was joking, but he's one person it's hard to tell), then he started to say, "See, Doug, you're tickling yourself." The more he egged me on, the more I laughed, till I was so overcome with giggles it did look like someone was tickling me hard all over. I don't get angry or upset or anything that way, but boy, can my laugh meter go through the roof. Probably partly b/c I've concentrated on allowing it to. I'd rather have happy thoughts and humor wash over me. And, a couple of my friends can make that happen very easily. I laugh at myself very easily in fact., and always have

So, did/does anyone else have a really odd laugh? And, how about finding things funny - do you sometimes "over dramatize" the humor involved in something?

Well my laugh can sometimes be very loud if I laugh at all.

A stranger once came up to me at a cafe and told me I had the "Most repulsive yet raunchy laugh he'd ever heard". Bloody cheek! :x

I tend to laugh myself hoarse if I really get going. On the morning of October 10, 1991 during my famed 6th grade camp out, one of the students was going around with a cheap 110 camera taking pictures of people during leisure time in the bunks. During his picture taking adventure, he changed the flash cube on his camera and as soon as he got the new one in the socket on the camera, he dropped it on the floor. The camera landed upside down on the flash and fired off a shot. But because it hit on the flash cube, it somehow managed to shoot off all four flashes at once.

I still chuckle at this today, but back then I was doubled over laughing so hard I nearly passed out.

My laugh changes, depending on the situation. There have been times where I have been accused of having a “sadistic” laugh. Apparently, at those times my laughter sounded like I was reveling in the suffering of others. I can vividly remember a time where people were laughing in a group and actually stopped and stared at me. “Oh my god, Scott!” a girl said to me. “Listen to you!”

Also, I am prone to laugh attacks that can last for hours. In the worst cases, I may laugh at the same thing for weeks! The source of the laugh attacks is always something I create in my own mind. Generally, it is a ridiculous, comical scene like a short video clip. It is rare that anyone would ever find the content as humorous as I do. Once I was on a road trip through northern California with a friend. I had a laugh attack that began on the third day and lasted the entire rest of the trip. It was seven days of giggling, me entertaining myself while my friend drove the truck. I must have drove him nuts!

I have a very loud laugh.

It's crazy, too. I also usually bang my fist on stuff while laughing because it's so damn funny.

I've got a rather loud, fast, high-pitched laugh, from what I can recall...

I giggle. My father used to complain because he thought I laughed like a little girl.

My laugh sounds utterly ret*d, unfortunately. Come to think of it, my voice in general does, as well. A deep, monotonous voice isn't considered especially attractive.
