Does the college TV station provide open access to the community of Oshkosh as a Public access TV station, or is programming restricted only to what Students at the colllege produce?
UW-Oshkosh is a public university and under state law, they cannot restrict access to the facilities to wisconsin taxpayers. People from the public have used the TV studios and facitlies in the past to produce programs. However there are rental fees to be paid, the same goes for people who produce at OCAT (Oshkosh Community Access TV), so they tend to produce their programs out of studio.
Anyways, the people of oshkosh hate our programing becasue it dosen't agree with there conservative viewpoints, we're all ready censored somewhat in what we can air. When the channel first stared, it was on channel 2, then it got bumped up to 12, then 20, and now we're on 66 which is ahead of only the TV guide channel, OLN, and Disney. All thanks to the efforts of this PAC group.
And that's the truly sad thing that the beef this PAC has with us is purely political.
