Hi,

I'm a 56-year-old man who was diagnosed with Asperger's at age 49. Finding out was a great relief, and it felt good to instantly go from being an under-achiever to being an over-achiever. I've been happily married for 21 years. So my Asperger's may be milder than average. It's hard to say for sure since I've never met another person who, to my knowledge, has the syndrome.

I have worked in IT and in GIS, although my job situation is up in the air at the moment. My hobby, which I share with my wife, is birding. In fact we just saw a "life bird" (not seen by us before) -- a White Wagtail, which is normally found in Asia but lost his way and ended up at a beach near Los Angeles harbor.

Welcome to Wrong Planet!

I'm also and older Aspie, approaching 50!

We see a lot of birds at our bird feeders--we recently saw a Bay Breasted Warbler, Carolina Wren, and a Common Redpoll. We missed seeing a Great Blue Heron--our neighbor took a photo of it on our roof!

The main birds you see around here are black crows & seagulls with the occasional starling and robin. Interestingly, eagles are also in the big park around here. I've seen one m'self, and really close up, too.
