I have never been very good with introductions but I guess this will have to do...

I came here to try to find some people who might actually "get" me. My main focus for being here is because I'm about to start my engineering degree and the social interactions scare me to death so I'm hoping for some support I suppose?

I'm way better at answering questions then actually telling about myself...

just post here when the questions about social situations come up. you'll learn lots by trial and error. me, i used to disclose too much personal info too early in a relationship. recently i even learned to small talk, not great, but adequately. never give up.

congrats on getting into an engineering program.

I guess my issue is mostly with understanding "humor" in real life situations. Sarcasm is especially difficult to understand because I focus on what is being said rather then how it's being said. I also tend to ramble about seemingly useless facts pertaining to the situation...*sighs*

if something would be insulting or mean if it were being said seriously, chances are good it's sarcasm. i say, "you're being sarcastic, right?" they say, "duh!"
