Hey Everyone,

I only just came across and took the Aspy Quiz a couple of hours ago. I wasn't really looking for it, but Asperger's has been in the news lately and I have been on a life-long quasi-quest in search of answers to what I perceive as my differences. I've done this kind of thing before, I researched Fetal Alcohol Syndrome for while (Mom admitted drinking during her pregnancy with me), but it didn't seem to fit. I've been keeping an ear out for various syndromes that may answer some of my questions for a long time and so I took the Quiz.

I scored 166 of 200.

Though the Quiz informs me I am "Very Likely an Aspy" I still don't know what any of this means.

Should I try to find a more formal diagnosis?

Are there other Aspy tests I should take to get a better idea of my situation?

Does anyone have any hints as to where I might find more solid info on the whole deal?

I'll start my own research, but anything that might help weed through the chaff would be appreciated.

Thanks, TedMart.

Welcome to WrongPlanet.

I suggest starting out in the "General Autism Discussion Thread". There are several "sticky" threads there with useful content.

Otherwise, when it comes to a formal diagnosis, it 's value depends on your particular situation.

And depending on your country, you would need to consult either a psychiatrist (AFAIK, in most countries) or a psychologist.

Apart from that initial advice, I suspect WP members in unison could probably answer most of your questions. So the best thing is to fire away...

My Thanks to both of you!

I'm still a little stunned and need some time to absorb all this, but what I've read here on WP so far lets me know that I'm certainly in some good company.

Hello, Notch, Thank you Stitch, and Cathylynn, interestingly enough the brief test you suggested concludes that I am "Probably NOT Autistic". Unfortunately I am still too new to the concept to know if that means anything or not.

I do realize that Asperger's presents very differently in each person. I guess I have some research to do.

Well, I'd advise caution before you jump to conclusions based from online tests

Welcome :)

Thanks Ten, and I agree. but so far the little I have learned about Asperger's seems to fit the bill as far as answering a LOT of questions I have had for a long time.
