I am Nate. I'm 40 years old. I am not officially diaganosed, but a few psychiatrist including my current one have strongly suspected that I have aspergers autism, they have suspected as far back as the 90's. My current psychiatrist says going through the process of getting an official diaganoses is not worth the bother at my current age as seeing how my mental health has improved anyway. I also have bipolar and OCD and paranoid delusions, all of which are well under control. I also have severe hearing loss with which hearing aids help a lot. My hearing loss resulted in delayed speech and reading development, but I caught up during late childhood and actually surpassed my peers in reading compresion and overall knowledege of the english language.

For a long time my life was hard and I suffered profound social isolation. Today I'm making friends, but it's still so hard. I'm trying to make a better life for myself.

I will see about how active I become here. I hope to find support here. Thanks for allowing me to sign up.

Welcome to Wrong Planet. Glad to hear the doctors have things under control for you.

Hi, I'm new too. I don't feel like I've been here long enough to roll out the welcome mat - I'm standing on it myself, so I'll move over a bit and just say , everyone here seems pretty nice and safe. Like you, I see no purpose in getting an official diagnosis. One thing you might do is take some of the self quizzes and test that are online...they might give you some insight. It's always good when you can find an advisor or doctor who is helpful. Having a diagnosis does help one to explain to oneself if no one else how it is, and it's nice to feel less alone.
