Just two weeks too late.
"Leider ist dieses Video, das Musik von UMG beinhaltet, in Deutschland nicht verfügbar, da die GEMA die Verlagsrechte hieran nicht eingeräumt hat."
Again GEMA, now this is the first time I cannot even listen to classic music on YouTube.
They're an annoying organisation, I can't stand them at all, they limit me in so many ways...
I love music, but I cannot use YouTube to discover "new" artists and composers just because they want money, more money and even more money. Almost all videos making use of music without any license are blocked in Germany, search results with blocked videos don't even show up on YouTube. I guess you can imagine how small the list of results is compared to earlier when GEMA didn't make any trouble and everything was available.
Exceptions are some live videos and videos by indie artists (thanks goodness), they show up and one can watch them.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestion! I'll try to find some other video featuring this composition and will let you know what I think about it.
By the way, do you know Hybrid? I'm not sure about the genre, maybe it's something like orchestral electronic music? Sounds like an own genre to me, I can't put it into any category and in stores their albums swap categories on a regular basis, I saw them in the dance category, in electronic and even in pop... how confusing... I guess the guys at the store don't even know the genre themselves.
I stumbled upon them rather by incident, some of their songs were used as soundtrack for a game I played, I liked what I heard in the background and that made me curious. I did some research to find the songs and found out its theirs.
I like pretty much every of their songs I've listened to on YouTube (luckily theirs are not blocked) and ordered the album "I Choose Noise" which contains some of the songs that were used in that game. I like their style, I guess I'm going to search for more albums. The one I bought is from 2004 if I recall correctly, a new hard copy costs 60€ and as I'm not interested in in buying a purely digital copy as a download, I searched until I found a cheap CD, second hand, but barely any scratches on jewel case and CD! It arrived today and I listened to it a few times, those are some nice compositions, the transitions between the songs are very smooth and some elements are being reused (example: a part of Dogstar is being reused in Hooligan Spirit), some songs are purely instrumental and some songs contain lyrics. Their vocals appeal to me and I like instrumental music too, so that's a good combination!
Those shelves are a neat idea, I think I could really need that - and I wish I had all those consoles, I can even see two versions of the NES and SNES, how awesome!
I don't see any Wii though and they could be sorted by category (Sony, Nintendo, Sega shelves for example) and age (left = oldest, right = newest). Don't say those are all yours, if they are, I'll be jealous!
Overusage of smilies in this post, I guess this is what could be called "being hyper" (referring to term from that one thread in the General Autism Discussion forums), got something new/interesting and now I'm "hyper" which reflects in the way my posts look like. <- just to add another smiley to this overly long post.
