Hi all

I found this commuity when trying to figure out how much of an AS I could be. Close friends of mine have suggested that I should be "tested" and that I lack some empathy... plus I usually get lost in friendly conversations with lots of double meanings and jokes that everybody else gets except by me. So I guess it is worth the research, manily because I'd like the insight.

Please forgive my misspellings and poor grammar, English is not my native language.

Nice meeting you all :)

Hi. I was curious about something. Do you feel the hardships of the tight economy going on in Spain?

Yes, unfortunately it's something that we're all suffering, if not personally, in the society, relatives, poorer public services... I consider myself a lucky girl because I'm young and I have a nice job. With 55% unemployment rates for peoble younger than 25 and 26% for the rest of us, there is fear and bad feelings everywhere.

I suppose it is the kind of trait that brought me here, where other people can understand me and relate to things that are odd in my environment :)

Hmm. With all that unemployment is there a rise in drug abuse and crime?

No, not yet. It's still a very safe country in general and familes are very united, (like most mediterranean), so we are withstanding. Hopefully it will remain the same until the end of the crisis, but... I wouldn't be so sure. A lot of families are now living on the grandparents pension pays for example. And that can only be a temporary situation, but there are still no signs of economy recovery.

No, as in staying calm and hopeful, taking care of unlucky people that need a hand.

Welcome to Wrong Planet.

If you'd like to learn more, there is a lot of information out there to be found. I would strongly recommend the books Aspergirls by Rudy Simone and The Complete Guide to Asperger Syndrome by Tony Attwood as a good starting point.
