Hello Wrong Planet family. It's been a while. I've been away, writing a memoir, which isn't focused on Asperger's (which I was recently diagnosed with) but certainly touches on it. And those of us who know Aspies will likely catch on right away (gems are hidden in there for us all!). It's mainly about living in my own little world as a child as my mother worked as a David Bowie impersonator. Yes, she became Bowie, sharing in his wild ways. Whilst I read up on the Encyclopedia on a daily basis and memorized facts about dogs, she was snorting powdery substances and partying with the likes of Alice Cooper. It's interesting at least.

Anywho, I write to thank all of you for sharing your hearts and questions on this forum as you helped me really 'come into my own' after receiving my (relieving) diagnosis. Some of you helped me to see I had a story to tell and now I'm telling it. I'm grateful.

If you're at all interested in reading excerpts, you're welcome to check out my blog at http://brandynightingale.blogspot.com. If you're on Facebook, I have a new page for the book which is titled "Everything's Hunky Dory: A Memoir" (easy to find). If you're not interested - AWESOME! Just know I'm grateful for the conversations some of us have shared in the past and for answers I've received to questions I'd long had, just by your willingness to share opinions and challenges here on this message board.

I'm glad to be back!

Cheers~

b.

I'm writing a book myself. I'll take a look at your samples.

Thanks, Shelby! Would love to read yours as well. Do you have a blog or something similar I can read?

Cheers~

No blog yet. It is my story and observations living as an autistic. I've been successful a a software engineer and have some observations regarding corporate politics. I should start a site for the book.

Yes! Please start a site. Fascinated to hear your story.

Somewhere in my ancestry lies UK relatives, however, I've been born and raised in Southern California. My mum said cheers a lot, and raised me watching Monty Python and listening to British bands, so I suppose it was bound to happen - me saying "cheers", drinking PG tips tea, and my obsession with a Mr. George Harrison. ;^)

So, for lack of a creative word, cheers!

Welcome back :)
That reminds me, I really need to find time to write about my past.

Welcome back,
Your dreams were your ticket out.

Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about.

Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they're turned around.

Who'd have thought they'd lead ya. Who'd have thought they'd lead ya.
Here where we need ya. Here where we need ya.

Yeah we tease him a lot cause we've got him on the spot, welcome back,
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.
