hi, my name's dott. I'm 16 & I was just diagnosed with Asperger's yesterday after waiting weeks to find out. i had wondered if i had it for a while, but finally got the courage to ask my mom to have me tested.
i'm so glad i did, it was a relief finding out that I have it, if that makes sense, lol
i've always been the way i am now -- socially awkward, interested in the "wrong" things, anxiety-prone, and an extremely picky eater. i didn't know those were aspie symptoms when i was younger, but i've always suspected in the back of my mind that i had some form of autism. my mom actually told me she considered having me tested when i was younger, but didn't want to make me feel alienated.
my special interests are usually different things that are meant for a younger demographic. i love children's cartoons, for example; phineas and ferb, adventure time, and regular show are my favorites. i also love victorious, though it's not animated. i also tend to enjoy animated movies much more than live action ones; if they're not animated, i get bored halfway through them and want to stop watching, lol
i've got most of the typical symptoms; social awkwardness, the special interests, the sensory issues, anxiety, usual stuff. i'd write about them but i think i've rambled long enough haha
that's about it i think. i'm bad at writing things that describe myself, but i guess i'm not alone here, am i?: it's awesome to have finally signed up though, i hope to have fun
