Hi,
I had a membership here years ago but haven't been posting for a while. I couldn't remember my details, so I've started a new account.
I'm a 40 year old graduate student at the University of Cambridge. I'm American, but I managed to get a studentship to come here and study education. It's been fun and extremely stressful at the same time.
I realized that I'm an aspie about 10 years ago when my son was diagnosed. It came as a great relief to me when I found out that there were so many people out there who were like me in ways I'd never imagined.
Now I'm working on a young adult novel with a teenage character who is an undiagnosed aspie. His mother, like many is extremely protective of him and doesn't like the idea of him being labeled. But on the most part the novel is a sort of reworking of Don Quixote in a modern high school setting. Our hero is obsessed with theater and becomes a bit of a knight errant to this girl he has a crush on, hilarity and trouble ensue. I'll post a link to my blog here after I've been around long enough to have the privilege of posting links.
Glad to be back. Looking forward to catching up.
Jenn
