Greetings all,
I joined Wrong Planet a while ago when I was first learning about Asperger's and trying to figure out if that might be an explanation for some of my idiosyncrasies. I didn't post or interact much then, in part because I got the feeling that anything short of an official diagnosis is not aspie enough to participate. I don't typically say I'm self-diagnosed (I don't like the connotations, because you can't diagnose yourself), but I do suspect that Asperger's (or possibly NVLD or PDD-NOS) would explain a lot about me and my past. I'd love to try and get evaluated for a diagnosis, but I don't have the money to do so (and if I did, I'd probably use it on other mental health services that I also need).
Now I'm looking to make some online friends or at least interact more with people, and when I tried to figure out what kind of community I'd find people I don't dislike in, I thought of Wrong Planet, so I'm going to give participation a try. I'm 25, female, a full time online student, and I'm looking forward to perhaps getting to know some of you.
