I'm 14 years old, female.

I like animals, I've always been interested in medical-related things (diseases, disorders, etc.)

I love math and science, though languages are my best subject.

I've memorized 27 digits of Pi - 3.141592653589793238462643383, 20 digits of E - 2.7182818284590452353602874 and 14 digits of the square root of 5 - 2.23606797749979

I'm really bad at starting conversations, I tend to be gradually ignored in conversations IRL, and yeah...

Nice to meet you all! [posted six months after I joined XD]

Hi, you might be the language arts / story / narrative type of Aspie (or Aspie side of NT! :jester: )

In a speech, Temple Grandin said there are three types of people on the Spectrum---math, language arts / narrative, and thinking in pictures. Math is I suppose the stereotypical kind of Aspie like on the show Big Bang Theory. Temple herself is the thinking in pictures type. Of course, like all theories, I guess take it with a grain of salt.

And since you like medical things, please consider going to medical school, getting a MD, becoming a doctor, yeah, the real thing. Remember, there's just a ton of different specialities. And a lot of medical education follows the case study method, which is very much in line with the narrative / story style of learning. (Now, I personally did struggle with the non-case study method used in a lot of introductory science classes, and I did not become a doctor. But you may be able to.)

Yeah, I've wanted to be a doctor since I was about six or so. I guess I "played" with dolls, if you count always making the doll have some nonexistent terminal illness XD

I don't really know what kind of Aspie I'd be... I love math, for sure. I tend to think in pictures (it stinks because I'll have a mental picture of what my opinion is but I can't put it into words)

I love The Big Bang Theory and my friend calls me Fem!Sheldon. I made a diagram comparing her to the four characters. It was fun.

Welcome. You are in the cool place to be autistic and a lot of other things.

May I offer a suggestion regarding mathematical obsessions?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio

The Golden Ratio is found in nature and it is also of practical use. For instance, the internal dimensions of speaker enclosures are often proportioned using it. Also, it's used a lot in architecture.

Hi, I think it's fine to make up nonexistent terminal diseases for dolls. It kind of gives practice for dealing with real ones, right? :nemo:

And if you have time, please explain a little about thinking it pictures. And do you think you could have a lot of fun, and maybe even make a lot of money with activities such as drawing, painting, sculpture (fully realizing that artistic activities, as far as making money, are the longest of long shots), or would these kind of be beside the point?

When I say thinking in pictures, I mean that my thoughts are generally an image in my head and I have trouble verbalizing. For example, if I'm arguing with someone, ill have a response in a weird format in my head, that's not so much an image or text/verbal, but somewhere in between. Verbalizing it is hard so I tend to use more precise and complicated words (not sure why.)

Welcome to wrong planet. I bet you're a brilliant student.

I can definitely relate to what you mean by being "gradually ignored".
