:flower: Hello! :flower:

I will soon be getting custody of my 3 grand kids, and each have their own set of issues to deal with. My oldest grandson has moderate to severe behavior issues and possibly has Asperger's. My grand daughter was diagnosed with ADHD along with her little brother, my youngest grand son. He possibly has Asperger's as well. Neither of my grandsons have been officially diagnosed but everything that has been witnessed in their behavior is pointing to Asperger's.

I want to learn as much as I can regarding Asperger's and ADHD, so that I can be of assistance in helping my grand children cope with their everyday lives.

Any and all suggestions are welcomed so feel free to message me.

Pleasure to meet y'all, and hope to get to know you soon!!

God Bless ya!!

Welcome, Ms. Beacon!

Please, for the good of the children, have them evaluated by appropriately-trained and licensed mental-health professionals. While your assumptions may be correct, they may just as easily be incorrect. Only one of the aforementioned professionals can make an official diagnosis and advise you on the proper follow-up care.

We're just a bunch of ordinary people, many with some form of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (and many without), and none of us (to the best of my knowledge) has the right qualifications to advise you in such a critical endeavor as raising children - especially children with special needs.

Besides, once an official diagnosis is made, you may be able to receive some sort of public assistance for the children's care - this alone is worth having them evaluated by appropriately-trained and licensed mental-health professionals.

Again, welcome aboard!

Welcome to WP.

Even if your Grandchildren do not have AS there might be things to learn from the parents board (start reading there - especially the stickies) and be prepared for very honest and sometimes rash/harsh words. Many people around here did not have a good childhood and have very strong opinions about how to treat autistic children. It is always meant well so take no offence.
