I get so confused when people change their avatars. I can't keep up with who is who. I guess because I relate the person more to the avatar than the name. Does anyone else have this problem???

there were a few avatars that I liked, and I was rather disappointed when the users decided to change them. :hmph:

this avatar is the real me [in the pic], I decided the time was right to give ol' art carney [the old avatar] a rest.

I feel the compulsive need to change it.

I did keep an old Ratchet and Clank avatar for almost a year, though.

Yeah I got used to Blabby's old avatar. I realised it wasn't his real picture but I kind of got used to it. (Not that the new one is a bad photo or anything, I'm just a bit of a creature of habit.)

I also recently changed mine just cause I'd had it for yonks. It was a bit of an aspie in-joke cause it showed the profile of a womans face, but from the cheeks down ( No eye contact)

I've taken the policy of changing my avatar every 100 posts. Not to offend, but just because it makes me feel different... I hope no one takes offence.

Eventually, I will run out of snake analogies, however, and revert to my original Gumprecht's Green Pit Viper avatar which corresponds with my forum name...

I had an SVP election poster for my last avatar, now I've changed it to a Lancashire rose. I had a Lancashire rose here as my avatar a long time ago, but this is a different design.

My avatar will change every now and then, but the theme will remain the same - A solitary black wolf, usually in the snow.

I think avatars are part of self expression, at least for some. I change mine from time to time, for different reasons. Sometimes to identify myself factually, sometimes figuratively and other times to reflect a specific mood.
