G' day,

My name is Ravn and I came this way to try and figure out why I am like this.

I don't really know where to begin...

There is no why. It's enough to figure out how this is.

Welcome aboard anyway

Thank you, Chris.

Thank you, Peter.

@Peter: I guess the why is irrelevant but I certainly know how it is...

I am forcing myself to attend a job interview this afternoon...

It is 8:37am here, Ann. My interview is at noon. I feel physically sick at the thought of it and it means I can only drink coffee and smoke a cigarette for my breakfast.

Over the years, I have adopted a 'social masking' technique but it requires so much effort to maintain and I just know I will be a wreck after the event.

Oh right :?
It's 6:45 pm here.

I always try to act like it's a mutual interview. Like the prospective employee is also judging the employer to see if they are a good match. Which in a sense is true ... I've taken some jobs I knew I couldn't do and in retrospect I should have realized that at the time. So try to think of it like that, it might help.

Thank you for the tip, Ann. My main fear is that, when I speak, I do it so slowly that I come across as a simpleton: my thought to speech processes have a sort of delay, you see.

If you don't mind my asking, what is the job?

The job is for a cancer charity. I hope to convey the fact that my strength is in filing...

I've lost many jobs because of the way I am... I have never told prospective employers in the past because I did not know myself.

I am waiting on the final diagnosis but money issues prevent me from seeing a psych. It is difficult.

Good to keep your strengths in mind.

Regarding disclosure - it's tricky. I disclosed at my last job and it ended with my having to leave. Turns out I don't like everyone knowing my business. I've just started a new job and I am not going to disclose.
