Hey everybody.

I could write a book on what I have been diagnosed with but I will keep this short and sweet and introduce myself.

My name is Cody.
I have seen doctors my whole life pretty much... I have visited the ER with horrible panic attacks quite often. I am anxious everyday. Not much stress in my life but I seem to be stressed anyway. I try and meditate and stuff to help the stress go down.

Lately after spilling how I feel and how I do things to a therapist she was pretty sure I have Autism but couldn't diagnose me. I have read up on it and I match pretty much all the symptoms. I keep very isolated. I have Tourette's Triad, ADD, OCD, General Anxiety Disorder, Panic Attacks, and it puts a hurting on me but I never give up.

I am a storm chaser though! I absolutely love weather. I have no anxiety when I am engaged in something I love. (Only a few things really...) I don't seem to get anxious in dangerous situations. The anxiety starts when I am just sitting and doing nothing. That's why video games saved me. Can anybody relate to that?

I have a beautiful, amazing girlfriend who accepts me for who I am regardless of how wired I may be.

I am planning on getting my first responder or EMT cert one day. I like helping people. I am fine when things are fast paced and there's no time to think about anxiety.

One on one I am horrible. I don't retain much information people tell me whether it's a story or something in general. I have a hard time looking people in the eye when I speak to them and am very self conscious of my voice too. I don't feel like I belong and I feel very different. I see a therapist once a week and she helps so much.

I hope to get to know you all well or most of you anyway. :D

hi, cody,

as someone who was a doctor for nine years but ultimately failed due to poor social skills, I caution you to think long and hard before going into such a people skills field. perhaps fire fighter might be better. or race car driver. perhaps high tension wire repair person. you could still get the adrenaline. eye contact is important if you want the people you'll be taking care of to trust you, for example.

welcome to WP.

Cathylynn I forgot to mention this but I actually do volunteer for a fire department! I am pretty knowledgeable in the EMS side of things even though I have no certs. I been on many calls. I handle the calls just fine, and I love helping patients. Since I am not an EMT or a paramedic I am kind of just an extra hand on scene right now. No anxiety during calls...

Hanging out at the station and not keeping busy can be brutal though... It's cool I can respond from my house. There's always two full time guys working though too and they are paramedics and EMT's/ engineers etc.

I forget to mention that in my intro! Yeah I don't think a doctor would be a good fit for me... I can hardly pay attention in classrooms and that's a whole lot of schooling too. I don't do well in class rooms. :?

That's so cool you were a doctor though. Reminds me... I am a major hypochondriac too.

Welcome Cody, fellow weather follower here, though in pretty much the most boring place for it!

Hi Cody ! Welcome Aboard to WP ! I recently discovered my high functioning autism, and now that you say that, I know I hate being bored like just sitting at home and doing nothing, but I can do that outside in nature while enjoying the birds singing and the great sceneries for instance ! In my youth I used to practice passive meditation while listening to deep music with efficient headphones ( sitting in a comfortable chair, eyes closed ), and I was able to discover new marvelous worlds new marvelous dreams and thougts in those passive meditation trips ! I practiced active meditation as well : that means I used to wander in marvelous places in nature while listening to marvelous deep music ( eyes opened ) ! You should give a try to passive and active meditation trips Cody ! It helped me a lot discovering my true " me " !

I enjoy a lot pc video games too ! And I love watching movies and series of almost all kinds ! I love exploring unsolved mysteries like ufos, the lost continents of atlantis and mu, dragons, unicorns, giants, zero point energy, out of body experiences, lucid dreams, etc.

Have a great journey here anyway :D
