Hi there,
I just joined this group today and wanted to say hi. I am a 40 year-old woman with Asperger's. I live in Jamaica with my husband but I am originally from Canada. I have a very hard time making friends, people easily don't like me it seems. My family has rejected me from day one because of my disability choosing to label me as "weird", so I don't speak to them anymore and simply accept my status as "black sheep of the family". I am hoping to connect with others in a similar situation on here. Feeling a bit left out on Facebook lately, people tend to ignore me on there while they pay way more attention to the NT's it seems. I just don't seem to know the right things to say to people when I do try to reach out to them it seems. Frustrating.

Yes, my main hobby is writing, I do both freelance article writing and I am also developing a script for a TV series.

oh, crystal,

my husband and I both write. i'm a volunteer writer for the autistic self-advocacy network. marc will look for a place for a humor column when he retires from social work. the published leader of his writer's group (pennwriters) thinks he'll find a taker. marc's nephew is in Hollywood, doing various producer jobs, trying to break into a screenwriting postion.
