Hello all!
Well, my experiance with Aspergers has only really become known to me recently. I was at a restaurant with my mum the other day and after talking she revealed that my early childhood was a worrying time and that I could only speak properly at the age of 4 and that I could not tolerate being at other children's parties if there were more than 4 children there.
The doctors were not too sure of what I had but they were sure it was Autism - wheras my (now ex-nurse) mother thought it may have been Aspergers. I seemed to start improving and the subject had not been touched upon since - until the other day.
I was fascinated about Aspergers and when I got home I looked it up on Wikipedia. I was shocked and confused at what I saw -> what I was reading seemed to very closely mirror my life. I previously had not heard of Aspergers and I thought I lived a normal 'NT' life and that I was just a little different albeit alot clumsier than other and reluctant to play sports due to myterrible coordination. I just thought I was a 'regular' person who wasn't good at sport.
It's hard to describe how it feels finding out that my whole life and existence fit's into a previously undiognosed sydrome and that suddenly it feels like I cannot live a normal life. It turns out that I belong to something I've never heard of nor have I met anyone with Aspergers.

Luckily I have had a good and close friend who has stuck with me my whole life and making new friends has not been such an important issue. I have not told him that I have AS yet and I probably will not until I have spolen to my GP and until I have been officially diagnosed.

Anyway hello everybody.

Dan.
