Hello, my name is Jason. I have a nine year old son, Jacob, that should be diagnosed on the autism spectrum, but doctors don't seem to think it is necessary. He has been diagnosed with anxieties, and been given heart medication that is doubled as attention deficit meds. I am not quite sure if I am in the right forum for my questions, comments, and/or concerns, as I am fairly new at this. If not, any help in the right direction would be grand. If so, I am excited to get to know people. Thank you!

Hi Jason,

Welcome to WP.

Why do you think your son should be diagnosed? And why do his doctors think it's unnecessary? I can imagine that if your son does have an ASD that it would be helpful to know so that any treatment he receives can be more effective.
