Help.
I just listened to a twenty minute interview of somebody with Aspergers.
It was as if they were answering the questions for me.

Little bit freaked out

Any advice?

Thank you

Alan

Hi Alan. Welcome. And by "welcome" I mean "welcome home."

I'm 46 years old. I was diagnosed a few weeks ago. I'm a bit new to this, too.

I suspected my condition based on articles about peers in trade journals, and their diagnosis coupled with shared traits. I was in full-on denial ("No, I'm far too functional to be that!") I'd been having personal challenges, so I sought an Aspie specialist therapist. I knew if I wasn't, whatever I was was close enough that they'd be able to tell me where to go.

So I think that's my recommendation to you: find a qualified professional in your area and seek an evaluation/assessment.

Until then, check out the various forums here. I suspect you will find many more "Yep I do that", "Yep, do that too", and "Oh! So THAT's related to THIS condition?" in these sub-forums.

Good luck on your journey.
