Hey there, nice to meet you all. I'm Sono (or at least thats what you can call me here) and I'm 22 years old. I'm also what you'd probably call an 'NT' although I do have generalized anxiety, panic attacks, and an unhealthy amount of perfectionism. That probably leaves you wondering why I'm here... which is understandable. Well, my Dad has aspergers (undiagnosed) and so does my boyfriend (diagnosed). So do several of my best friends. I like to understand things and people: they deserve it. The media version of any 'mental illness' is usually *insert negative word of choice here*.

Here are five random facts about me because I really don't know what else to say... lol
1. I can knit anything. Yarn makes me insanely happy.
2. I am a bio major and adore insects.
3. I have a cat.
4. Reading and writing are fun for me. Sometimes much more fun than talking. I like being able to think before I speak.
5. I eat raw cookie dough.

We, the people on the Autistic Spectrum have a choice.
We can either try to "fit in" with the rest of society, or we can be so egocentric that we can't be bothered.
I choose the actor. I observe NT's. I listen to their socializing. I practice it, so in social situations I can just emulate/mimic what is expected.
It isn't natural for me, but it enables me to "fit in".
It is VERY tiring and draining, but at least we can appear like them even though it is an act. Like being on the stage.
They can't see it is emulation, and so we are accepted.
