Hey, it was good hearing from all of you. I'm thinking of dorming next semester (I have a one hour commute each way 4 days a week). Any opinions, or personal experience? Thanks, and talk to you soon.

make sure you get your own room. sleeping in the same room with five other people is not so pleasant.

dorming was definitely worthwhile for me, as I started out with a 45 minute commute each way. Living close to your classes frees up your time thus lessens your stress level, so even if it can be stressful in certain ways, not driving two hours a day will likely make up for it.

Welcome to WP!

Many people absolutely love the dorm experience, and I applaud their fortitude and desire to further their socialization. But I do not enjoy living in the college dorms, for a number of reasons. The main one is that there is loud noise late at night, and loud noise at the crack of dawn, so I don't get more than four or five hours of sleep, stunting my growth and leaving me mentally tired all the time. Another bothersome reason is that my neighbors smoke, and perhaps smoke marijuana, in violation of dorm policy, thereby putting me, a non-smoker who is watching his grandfather slowly waste away from emphysema, at risk from disease-causing second-hand smoke that seeps through the ductwork and cracks in the door.
