Hello, I don't know if there is a specific format I am supposed to follow so my apologies in advance if I make a mess of this post :(

I am 19 and living in Ireland and was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome when I was 17. I am a a big fan of the sci-fi/ fantasy genre and love Doctor Who, The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Batman, Fringe, The Walking Dead and lots of other "nerdy stuff". I also love video games, particularly RPGs, and between the Elder Scrolls series, Fallout series and World of Warcraft I have spent over 5000 hours gaming (something I am both proud and ashamed of at the same time). I also read about a wide variety of factual topics and am particularly interested in philosophy (Nietzsche is my favourite), psychology and art.

I decided to join this site as my psychologist recommended it may be a good place to make friends as I currently don't have any :( I am terrible at making friends and, even though I am in college, I am completely isolated. I thought college would be a great place to meet like-minded people but I just can't relate to any of them and still have not spoken to a single person in my class. I also suffer from depression and OCD and have spent time in a psychiatric hospital after attempting to commit suicide.

I really hope to make some friends who won't judge me or my idiosyncrasies and, once again, I'm sorry if I made of mess of this post.

Thanks for reading :)

I, too, was disappointed by the people in college. many were there because their parents made them go and they majored in partying. grad school was much better. what's your major? mine was biology.

Thanks for the reply :)

I know exactly what you mean. All I ever hear them talk about is alcohol. I was originally majoring in Biochemistry but I was hospitalised and missed several months and had to change to History.
