Thought I'd start this thread because I'm sure so many people here have changed quite a bit since they first joined. Introduce yourself, say what kind of person you were when you were new, and then give a summary of everything that's happened since then.

Me first:

My username's Yayoi, a name I don't identify with much anymore - I prefer to go by R, the initial of my first name. I'm a seventeen-year-old high school student with Aspergers. Back in February of this year I was flighty, overly sensitive, a big crybaby and obsessed with Japan, the Japanese language and anime, fleeing from people on other forums who accused me of trying too hard.

Now I'm interested in multiple things - East Asia in general, chemistry and biology, computers, technology and transhumanism. I'm hoping to pursue a career in science, medicine or computers once I leave school. I'm much more timid now than before - hate standing up in front of an audience, no matter how much I liked the attention a while ago.

Well, this is rather fitting actually four years to the day since joining under this account, so I shall join in

The username, TenPencePiece (often shortened to Ten though some prefer TPP), was used because I couldn't think of anything at the time, and was playing with a ten pence coin at the time.
I joined at the age of 14 whilst suffering the effects of leaving school earlier that year, which turned out to be a traumatic experience. Was always too scared to post and spent my days doing nothing much at all. Since then, I made many friends here when I started posting properly in early 2011, got over many anxieties, helped fellow people on the spectrum, engaged in my interests, appeared on television, looking into a future in radio and media, generated nearly three-quarters of a million views from my seperate projects, visited parliament, and had a relationship.
With my interests, they haven't changed too much. Most of the WP community will know about the cones which started in 2011 :)
However, I've also had many depressive spells during this time, almost countless...and a significant crisis in my life or at least my way of thinking in the past two weeks, which is probably the past catching up or something.

And that is all, not sure what the future holds.

Well... since I joined... I started the Care and Feeding of Your Aspie series which is currently being translated into polish, and soon will be in print (the first volume), my first novel is available in print... I have made some amazing friends and my fetish photography is getting recognition... It seems odd to attribute it to the site, but I believe that writing Care and Feeding has allowed me to plumb the depths of my crazy and come to a better understanding of who I am, not to mention helping people

I joined earlier this year. Just looking into getting diagnosed, or just after I was diagnosed, I can't remember which now. At the time I was massively obsessed with Aspergers, and spent a huge amount of time reading about it. It was great to finally get an explanation for why I had been struggling my whole life, and I wanted to understand everything about it, and how it applied to me.

Now I am much more relaxed, I have made peace with how and who I am. I am trying to spend more time on the things in life that are important to me, but it's great to be able to come here and talk to people who understand how 'normal' life can be a battle to be faced every day.

That's such a great line, I am going to have to use that.

Congratulations on getting Care and Feeding into print Feralucce. I know how much it helped me at the start, and I know it will help many more people in the future. You can be really proud of what you have accomplished in writing that.
I would love to know what your first novel is - can you let us know the details so I can look it up?
