Hi
Got diagnosed a couple of months ago. i have suspected it for a couple of years. but to get the confirmation was emotionally very hard.

just been going back over my whole life and understanding the reason for so many things.

I am exhausted from the act i have had to put on.

When i was younger I tried to go to university only lasted 5 days. Then i tried again and only lasted half an hour. then the drs put me in to a psych unit and told me it was schizophrenia

Now i know it was autism and suffering from PTSD

Welcome! :)

Was it also a relief to finally know? I received confirmation back in November and it has allowed me to put a lot of things into context, but I am also still working things out too (emotionally/mentally).

Yes it was a relief. I already understood it well. Can't find enough to read about it, . just wish my wife could understand it all over night. we separated 4 weeks before my diagnosis.

i,m hopeing we can work out some form of relationship though. maybe living part will help.

by the way i am from the Uk. You?

Hello, to you (all), from Kansas.

I'm (a guy) in my late-30s and, less than three months-ago, I began reading everything I could find on Asperger's. It's only taken me this long (2 to 3 months) to go from

a) not knowing much, at-all, about Asperger's to, now,

b) becoming absolutely convinced that Asperger's/"The Spectrum" explains so very much about my past (so many years of confusion [which is embarrassing to admit]).

I just love how we're all coming together, here, in support of one-another. I've only been exploring this, particular, website for about 3 or 4 days, but i feel like I "hit the jackpot"! (No, unfortunately, it took me about three months to realize how cool and big this website is!)

I just wanna say: Finally(!), we all have some answers! More importantly, finally, we have support! Finally, I can move forward with my life knowing "what's going on". It sounds like you-all are "in the same boat"!

I appreciate all of you "30-somethings"! This is so cool!

Sincerely signed,

-(no longer waiting for decades!)
