Hi I was diagnosed with Aspergers last summer and that's good because now I'm learning about how to cope with the problems associated with it. I was born in and live in the UK.

My favourite thing to do is act onstage but since I failed Uni auditions now I'm involved in a theatre production course. It's useful in the future because it will be easier to get paid doing production than acting. I'm not doing acting and this course because sometimes this course has long hours (Before and on show nights it can be as long as 9am til 10pm) so I don't want to get too stressed about doing both.

Welcome! Congratulations on getting the diagnosis thing settled, and starting your journey of learning ways to cope that work best for you.

Hi isnotjohn, Welcome to wrong planet :)

We can either try to "fit in" with the rest of society, or we can be so egocentric that we can't be bothered.
I choose the actor. I observe NT's. I listen to their socializing. I practice it, so in social situations I can just emulate/mimic what is expected.
It isn't natural for me, but it enables me to "fit in".
It is VERY tiring and draining, but at least we can appear like them even though it is an act. Like being on the stage.
They can't see it is emulation, and so we are accepted.
