Hello, my name's Jamie, and I am an awesome child of the British Isles.

I was diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder when I was twelve, although there had been talk about it since I was about seven. I also have ADD. I'm generally quite happy, although easily flustered. I have a few good friends, but I prefer my own company most of the time. :) I love superheroes (I'm happy with Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Justice League, Constantine... I could go on. Basically, buy me a comic and I'm yours.); Sherlock Holmes; rowing; Star Trek; making watercolour pictures; cooking; reading... my favourite books and TV shows tend to be stereotypically nerdy, but they make me happy. :D

I also love breakfast food.

Thanks for all your nice messages. :)

cathylynn - No, they're not, but it is something I've been looking into recently. :)

Ashariel - Loki and Sherlock are among my favourite people ever (fictional or otherwise) and I love them irrationally. That's all I have to say on the matter.

Also, stupid question, can I just go ahead and join in with the forums now?

Yes, dive right in! You're already doing much better than me – I never bothered to introduce myself until like 2 years after I joined, oops?! :P

Hi LokiDoki,

You sound like a very creative person. That's a BRILLIANT trait to have.

Welcome to Wrong Planet :)

We can either try to "fit in" with the rest of society, or we can be so egocentric that we can't be bothered.
I choose the actor. I observe NT's. I listen to their socializing. I practice it, so in social situations I can just emulate/mimic what is expected.
It isn't natural for me, but it enables me to "fit in".
It is VERY tiring and draining, but at least we can appear like them even though it is an act. Like being on the stage.
They can't see it is emulation, and so we are accepted.
