Hello. I've been surfing the web for a while after becoming a bit disenchanted with some boards I've visited. I decided I wanted to be around more like-minded individuals, so when I discovered a link to a site for Aspies, I jumped on the opportunity. I thought I had Asperger's for a while, and only recently have I found out that I was diagnosed nearly nine years ago. It explains a few things, like why I've never been too keen on socializing and little things like "chit-chat". I've been trying to overcome some of this recently, but I'm not sure that I'm happy with the results. Anyways, I like drawing, writing and planning things, science fiction, and video games. I'll be around... I guess.

They diagnosed you with Asperger's and didn't tell you...? What were they thinking?

They don't tell little kids most of the time. I had to hound my parents to get them to tell me.

People like that don't deserve the title of parenthood. They know damn well that not telling them and them finding out later could scar them for life...

Hi, im Roxas, number XIII in the Organization. (Any avid video gamer should know what game this is from.) I like video games (favorites are Final Fantasy and the other related and more obvious series i mentioned earlier) and sci-fi (favorites are Star Wars and the Matrix series.) I'm also a major otoku (Japanese for anime-lover), with some of my favorite series being FMA, Naruto, Trinity Blood, and Eureka Seven. I also like drawing my own manga characters.

But enough about me. Welcome to the wrong planet (at least it's wrong for most people, tis right for us.)

Actually, what happened was when I was eight or so I started infrequently visiting a doctor, and apparently my mother asked me if I wanted to know why and I said "no".

Well, i speak for myself when is say i would have liked to know. But my parents went and told me the second i was diagnosed (i was around 5 years then.)

But, to each his/her own.

Your opinion is the right one. You did not need AS lessons, what there is to find, you should discover for yourself. Telling people they are bright and somewhat self centered won't get you paid, but a Syndrom will pay for a new Mercedes.

You are bright, self centered, do not relate to things that lack brain waves, send me a Mercedes.
