How so? Well, I started out looking up some info for one of my kids, but in the end I kinda got hit in the head with tons of recognition. To a point where I had to step away from the screen because it felt like too much, honestly. Now what? I don't know, it all feels like a lot to take in but after my kid's diagnosis I'm on the waiting list myself. And instead of being the perpetual lurker I usually like to be: hi there :)

Hi, and welcome to WP.

Hope you can find information for yourself and your kid.

Welcome! :)

I see you like Norse mythology (the Eddas). There is a Verdandi on the forums. I painted the Norns as part of my major artwork for high-school years ago - my focus was Yggdrasil and all the beings on the tree.

Welcome :D

Don't worry, we get quite a few parents here who have learned the same about themselves, only once they've learned that their own children have been diagnosed. I'm sure it's a relief for it all to finally make sense now.

We can either try to "fit in" with the rest of society, or we can be so egocentric that we can't be bothered.
I choose the actor. I observe NT's. I listen to their socializing. I practice it, so in social situations I can just emulate/mimic what is expected.
It isn't natural for me, but it enables me to "fit in".
It is VERY tiring and draining, but at least we can appear like them even though it is an act. Like being on the stage.
They can't see it is emulation, and so we are accepted.

Thanks for the welcome, all! It's a bit of a rollercoaster lately, but I'm learning a lot as well, so the best of hope we get to make this thing work properly in a bit of time.

Sare: sounds like an interesting project! I'm very interested in mythology in general, but I keep falling back on the Norse part of it, so it seems :) I like how there are so many parallels between myths from all over the world.
