Hello all, Long time visitor who just joined.

Let me tell you a little about myself, I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome during my childhood (First grade to be exact), though I would say it was not until I was 13 that I fully understood what having AS meant. While I had a good childhood it was a little difficult making friends at first. Thankfully I met a lot kids my age in my second grade homeroom that I am still close with today, along with my parents introducing me to children of their friends.

Having a fixed interest was one of the bigger hurdles to clear for me. Thankfully it is not as big of a concern as it was when I was a boy. It did puzzle me a little bit that my peers seemed to talk about sports non-stop and yet my interests were boring to others.
My biggest interest(that is also my hobby) in the James Bond films, my father introduced me to them as a kid and I have seen all 23 movies multiple times , read Ian Fleming's novels and collected many pieces of paraphilia associated with it.

I am looking forward to interacting with everyone here on the forums.

Hello. Nice to meet you :)

I was diagnosed with Asperger's when I was 10..... I know what you mean, I didn't understand what it meant till I was about 14, and took me longer to fully accept it....

I have also found it difficult to make friends, was bullied throughout school, but felt 6th form college and university a bit easier. I still only have a few people I would say are 'close friends' though. I have also grown apart from a lot of people, so i guess you could say I find it difficult to keep friends, and make 'real close friends', rather than 'just kind of friends' and 'acquaintances'. I feel a bit lonely when I go home from university, for example, because I have grown apart and don't really talk to any of my college 'friends'. However, I do have a few close friends.... my boyfriend being one of them (as sad as that sounds).

I guess you could say my 'special interest', is ten-pin bowling.... I absolutely love it :D, I am also obsessed with Eastenders (a british soap), and will constantly check out all the spoilers for it :D I do also like the James Bond films haha, but I am not obsessed with them :d I do also like shopping and regular girl-type things.

I am studying at university at the moment for a Master's degree.

nice to meet you :)
