Hello All ~
My name is Adrianne. I am a young adult female recently diagnosed with AS/HFA. Actually, professionally diagnosed twice (both in 2014) because I wanted a second opinion. The diagnosis in some ways seemed too good to be true because it explained everything. I am a wife and mother of two girls and have a successful career. On the outside, one would not notice any disability whatsoever. They probably wouldn't believe me and think me sharing this diagnosis is some sort of attention seeking behavior, frankly. My outward success is no reflection whatsoever of my internal state (it never has been - I am just a fantastic actor/mimic-er/faker). Since my diagnoses, I feel like I am experiencing some sort of identity crisis - childhood memories are being rewritten and past struggles are put into new contexts. It is kind of a surreal journey. Anyway, I look forward to perusing this forum and I REALLY look forward to typing my thoughts freely and not needing to re-read my emails to ensure they include social niceties and politically correct jargon. I don't know any Aspies; hope to change that soon.
Adrianne

Hi, Welcome to the Forums.

There's people of many persuasions (i.e., various degrees of ASD's) here.

Have a nice evening.

Hi! :) I have a few - I am an artist and love to create. I also love theoretical physics and religious cosmology. Those are my primary "special interests" but I also really enjoy animated movies, documentaries, reading fantasy fiction, playing with my daughters, and of course...spending time alone thinking.

What kinds of things do you like? I see you are/were in healthcare as a career. Me too. :)
