Hello everyone. Not comfortable posting my name, but you can call me by my username greenwolf, or just green. I truly believe that I have Asperger Syndrome, but I haven't been officially diagnosed. I'm not really sure how to go about that, but a diagnosis is important to me. My entire family believes I have AS, and I'm grateful for their support, but I kind of feel that I am in a state of limbo without being 100% sure. I found this site while researching and I am glad I did. For so long, most of my life really, I've felt so different than other people. I didn't know why everyone else embraced change like it was a fun adventure and not something to be afraid of or why loud noises didn't seem to bother anyone but me. It was only when my siblings started watching Parenthood and pointed out the character of Max to me that I even became aware of AS. It's been a journey of self discovery ever since. All the mixed up pieces of my life began to make sense. I just finished a really amazing book, Safety Skills for Asperger Women, and I'm more determined than ever to get that diagnosis. Anyway, I had a tough day at my job today and that's one of the reasons I decided to join today. I'm hoping to make some connections here with people that understand what I'm going through. So, hi everyone! It's nice to meet you. :)

Hi greenwolf, welcome.

I was never officially tested and diagnosed with AS, but I was diagnosed with NVLD at age 18. (I never pursued further tests after that.)

I'm pretty sure that I have AS based on my results from unofficial online tests. The online tests seem to indicate that I have a mild case of AS.

Here is a simple online AS test:

Based on your intro, I'd guess you're an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) just as I am.

HSP test is found in the opening post of this thread:

Hi mezzanotte, and thank you for the welcome. I have taken several online tests as well, including that one. I scored very likely on that one the first time I took it. According to the HSP test, I am a highly sensitive person. Who knew?
