Hi everyone. I'm not completely new to this forum, but I have re-registered under a new nickname. (My old name was Shirley, with three numbers after it). The reason I re-registered was because I did not take the advice in the Warning to use a different username than I use elsewhere online. Almost immediately, I got some spam related to autism, which I found pretty creepy, so now I have created a new username for this forum only. (Even creepier, the dark forces of the internet have figured out that I am over 50, and I keep getting ads for Depends popping up.)

So that is me - female, 55, just diagnosed about two months ago, and feeling like my life is finally starting, for the first time, to make some sense. Since being diagnosed, I have started an adult support group in my local area (which is in Canada), and we just had our first meeting, so now I have had a chance to meet others on the spectrum in person, which was great. Since I have always felt like an alien (the name of this web site is so perfect) I feel like I have finally met others of my species (although I first encountered them here).

Welcome back! I am also in a support group, and I think it's a great experience! The thing you said about getting ads for Depends made me laugh. I'm currently getting lots of ads for glasses. At least I do wear them! :D
