Hi,

I'm new here. I just wanted to say hello. I'm kind of bad with introductions, but I am from RI, I'm 48. As a child I was diagnosed with ADHD, motor and verbal tics and motor skills problems spacial problems. Later in my teens had been treated for anxiety and depression. I pretty much had OCD throughout my life, and although I haven't had a professional diagnosis, I presume that I have Aspergers Syndrome, based on many online tests I took including the Aspie Quiz (all 150 questions) and others for AQ and EQ as well as analyzing my own lifelong behavioral patterns.

I hope to get to know others who have the same situations.

Thanks,
Alfred

Hi Alfred! Nice to meet you and welcome to Wrong Planet :D

There are lots of us here that have the same experiences like the ones you described in your intro. I was diagnoses with lots of different this before I diagnosed myself with autism and then eventually received a formal Aspergers diagnosis.

Thank you all for the welcome to the page. Yes I have to say that medical research has been a life long interest for me, or at least since my teens. I have been very interested in medical research especially diseases, and how vitamins for instance and natural substances can be used to treat them. Other interests I have include DNA/Ancestry research and cars.

I am having a little trouble navigating my previously posted threads though. Is there a way to go to all my previous posts?

I was also talking with my mother recently and something I just learned was that I started talking in almost full sentences at 6 months of age, but due to the motor skills I didn't walk until 18 months which I think is not the norm. As a child I had to go to several psychologists, an IQ specialist (it was around 160), and a motor skills specialist, because I could barely draw circles or legibly write my name.

Then I implore you to read the link in my signature. It's my experience w/ pretty much all the same diagnoses you have, and what I learned about their cause & how I've managed to successfully treat myself over the last couple of years. Many here think I'm full of s**t, but just because they don't believe me doesn't make me a liar. Feel free to message me about it if you like.

Hi Alfred, you can do it either through your account page or through the link on the main page that lists all the forums. On the top right corner it says something See My Posts.

Are you sure you could talk in almost sentences at 6 mos? Does a baby even have the physical capability to do that that early? Maybe she misremembered by a few months (I could be wrong though).

Well I know I was talking pretty well at 6 months maybe full sentences a little later, but I know she said I was a late walker. I took my first step at 18 months and maybe walked fully slightly after that. I know I was bad at sports growing up, couldn't catch a ball or hit one with the bat and couldn't ride a bike until around 11 years old, but at I rode well.

I just wanted to comment about all the info that Goldfish had in the link. That was quite impressive, and although I don't have that much time to look now I will look it over more.

I do take several vitamins and health compounds which I feel has improved my general health. I am taking Glucosamine Chondroitin, Vitamin C 1000, D 1000, E 200, Probiotic 10, Prostametto, Magnesium 250, Multi Vitamin, Fish/Flaxseed oil and recently started taking St. John's Wort.

I'd say after about 12 years old the ADHD was gone, as well as the majority of the motor skills problems, although thats when the OCD probably started. Depression and Anxiety started in my teens as well. The motor and vocal tics were prominent from age 7 to about 10, but I still get them when I am nervous or stressed to some degree, but not in the capacity I had them when I was a child. So now as an adult I am still dealing with symptoms related to Aspergers as well as OCD, Anxiety and Depression. Additionally I have Asthma and Arthritis problems in my knees and I take Aleve for that.

I know there is no cure for Aspergers, but I heard that St. John's Wort is supposed to have good results for anxiety and depression by several people I talked to. I wish there was something I could do for OCD and other repetitive behaviors that I have.

Lastly Social settings like mingling at a get together are terrifying to me. It feels unnatural to socialize with a lot of small talk and flirting etc, so this is also one of the things I wish I could change. Talking online to people is not as much a problem, but in person at a gathering is not pleasant. So I pretty much avoided social contact when possible, stay away from weddings, didn't go to any of my proms etc.
