Hello all,

My name is Ollie and I'm pretty sure I've found the right planet.

A little about me: I'm 22 year old guy, married with a little one on the way. I'm a cook in the USAF. I'm a huge nerd, love TV, I collect comic books and am hugely into DnD (which has helped immensely with my social anxiety).

For a little while now I've been thinking I could have Asperger's. It actually wasn't until someone pointed it out that I even considered the prospect of having the disorder. Since then it became a minor obsession. I began researching it and the more I read on the subject, the more I realized how much in line the symptoms are with myself.

I've since taken both the AQ test and the "Aspie Quiz" I've seen people on here talk about. The AQ test was a 34 (30+ being "likely"). Then with the Aspie Quiz my score was 169/200 neurodiverse and 52/200 nuerotypical.

Now obviously these tests are not meant to be a diagnosis whatsoever but for now this is all I can do (as I'm in the military).

But anyways, this is just my introduction, nice to meet ya'll! If you have any questions I probably have an answer somewhere for you.

The Autism Spectrum Quotient (AQ) test used to have a screening threshold of 32 among people known to have Asperger's Syndrome and/or an Autism Spectrum Disorder. But, in 2005, the threshold was changed to 26. So, your score of 34 is even more valid than before.

In any case, welcome!

Huh, that's interesting. Definitely good to know. :)

Don't worry, it is a joke, but not about you.

Ever seen Laurel and Hardy?

They were a comedy team during the 20s through 50's who were quite popular in movies and on TV until recently.

OLIVER Hardy was quite fat, and somewhat gentlemanly (in a comedic sense). STAN Laurel was a skinny, sensitive guy who had a British accent (he was British). Hardy usually served as the "straight man."

They would usually be a big part of "comedy of manners" type films.

Like Abbott and Costello, they wandered around, seeking odd jobs, and lived in rooming houses. Unlike Abbott and Costello, they had class.

Oh, okay! I was extremely confused. While I've watched some older stuff, never really made it as far as the fifties!

I honestly thought "Stan" was another member who left or something. Haha.

Of course you've seen "Oliver Twist," right? I bet you'd like it.

There are Laurel and Hardy films on YouTube. It's funny, because Laurel and Hardy sometimes make the same "social mistakes" as people with Asperger's. They also have lots of food fights.

Unfortunately not! I'm 22 and my parents are in their early 40s (had me at 19 and 21). So they grew up on eighties movies as that was when they were in high school. I just kinda always watched those movies as well (Back to the Future, Star Wars [yes I know it was 70s], and pretty much anything John Hughes related, and others).

In short, I'm not quite the movie aficionado, haha.
